Project Outline
40 Leadenhall is one of London’s financial district’s most significant development sites, which involves a 34-story prime office and retail block consisting of 900,000 sq ft.
The project expects to complete with a reception area, office spaces, a clubhouse, a fitness studio, independent retailers, restaurants, an auditorium, an HD cinema room and much more, all while determined to achieve zero carbon and BREEAM Excellent.
Mace has a large team of staff working on the project, and with other properties in close proximity, safety is of the utmost importance. At Howler, we provided the practical solution they needed to minimise fire risk and ensure on-site safety.
Project Challenges
With thousands of feet of coverage, the most crucial consideration Mace and our experts had to make was the development of the project and how this would impact the safety equipment on site. We provided the answers they were after.
With so many different development areas involved in the project, it is a phased installation that requires equipment versatile enough to move across the site when needed. Our team rapidly supplied 280 active fire safety points on site, all of which are BS 5839.1 compliant within welfare areas and can be relocated as development progresses. Equipping Mace with the ProLink® has provided certainty and reassurance that staff will be quickly alerted in the event of a fire and, most importantly, on a daily basis, helps to protect 1000s of lives.
